FAQS

  • My family is Reform/Conservative/Observant/Not observant - will we feel comfortable at the Alef Academy?
Yes! The Alef Academy is a warm, inclusive environment. We are proud of our diverse background of families. We have been successful at creating an environment that is true to our mission of community, caring and respect.
  • What are the school hours?
The basic school day is from 9:00am – 3:00pm. We also offer half day and extended day options.
  • Are the schedule options flexible?
Yes! We will try our best to accomodate everyone.
  • What is the tuition?
Please contact our school for tuition information. (Office@alef.academy)
  • Tell me about lunch and snack.
Lunches and snacks come from home. Some of the children have allergies, some keep Kosher, some do not, so we don't share lunch with our friends. (We are exploring the option of providing hot, nutritious lunches that will be available at an additional fee. Our lunches will feature a well-balanced menu consisting of fresh ingredients, produce, soups and whole grain ingredients.)
  • What is the teacher to student ratio? How many teachers and students are in each class?
We have higher teacher to student ratios then is expected of our school from both the Division of Early Care and Learning and Colorado Shines. This means there are more teachers than required for each group size.
  • What special activities are offered at Alef Academy?
Music classes, Shabbat and holiday parties, are only a few of our growing list of the special activities at Alef Academy.
  • What can parents do to be involved?
We encourage parents to participate in being a class parent, participating in facilitating school wide events like Thanksgiving, Chanukah parties, and Shabbat dinners.
  • Is there a summer program at Alef Academy?
Yes! Camp Alef is our summer camp program during the summer months.
  • What scholarships available?
Alef Academy is a partner with Colorado Childhood Assistance Program (CCAP) and offers tuition assistance to those who qualify. We are also a Denver Preschool Program partner which awards tuition credits to every Denver resident for ECE 4. Additionally we have a scholarships/tuition assistance program through Jewish Colorado. Please contact the office for additional information about scholarships.
